This post was first published during my long trip in South America. We were planning our 2 last months and started to feel already a bit nostalgic. But we were excited by all the wonders we could discover before going home. In this post, you will discover how to spend 2 fabulous months backpacking in Argentina and Chile!
It´s booked. We have now bought our plane ticket back to Europe (the place we call home). In 2 months, we will be on a plane that will be crossing the Atlantic Ocean, closing the loop we opened in June when we flew to Cartagena and started this amazing trip to discover South American wonders.
Buying the ticket, the beginning of the end…
It was not easy to buy the ticket. Even my love for french cheese and bread couldn’t compensate for the intensity of exploring new places everyday (and God knows how much I like cheese!). After a daily life made of climbing submit, snorkelling with sea lions or dancing like at Rio´s carnival, going back to a normal life still to be figured out (hello future employer click here) is not the most exciting perspective.
Dear reader, don´t worry too much for me. There are few good news: we will reach Europe when the days start gettinga bit longer and spring slowly to show its nose. AND we still have 2 months on the road! Looking at the plan, it feels like we kept the best for the end!
So what´s on the menu?
Buenos Aires > Mendoza > Santiago > Valparaiso > Pucon > Puerto Montt > Chiloe Island > Bariloche (New Years) > El Bolson > Los Antiguos > El Chalten > El Calafate > Puerto Natales (Torres del Paine) > Punta Arenas > Ushuaia > Buenos Aires > Home (Europe)
Stay tuned Among awesome wine tasting, cave exploring, days on the beach and penguins colonies, this itinerary also includes a 9 day trek in National Park Torres del Paine, where we will have to cover more than 150km by foot… After that, yes, I am pretty sure we will feel like going Home 😉
Have you been in these areas before? Your recommendations are more then welcome! Travelling at the same time in this area? Let me know and let´s share a nice bottle of chilean or Argentinian wine!
Amazing! Yes, we might me there! As I said before, me&husband will be starting soon our LatinAmerica trip, and we’ll start it in BsAs, then Ushuaia for Xmas and possible Bariloche for New Year’s Eve! So, I’ll drop you a twit if we get to Bariloche, otherwise we might cross each other’s faces on the road 😉 Have fun!
You will have so much fun! Please drop we a tweet, it would be fun to meet!
